Candi Ijo
A surprise right from the start

Temple on the hill

Beautiful Kala

Kala Head with Makara (left)

Kala on door to Sacred Chamber

Ijo, I would say contains all elements that makes it a Tantric Temple: Kala's, Makara's as well as the sacred Yoni/Linggam altar. The latter is often put in the inner chamber of the Temple.

Vulva + Womb

Yoni/Linggam

God/Goddess in Womb structure

Kala/Cosmic Mother with on top Her Son/God

The same phenomenon like at Candi Ngawen: the head of a God/King surrounded by a "Womb" structure, emphasizing that he is the Son of the Mother, incarnated in nature (foliage). This image is very similar to that of the Green Men in archaic times (Sumeria) and later in Europe

Son/God
