OLARIZ

I missed my goalt. Instead of this village church I should have found a hermitage. In the church there was nothing, but these statues - a hommage to women - I liked

The Valdorra is a region east of Olite in Navarra. There are many idyllic small villages

ORISCOAIN
A famous romanic church

Bad luck again. For it was Sunday and the service ongoing. "Praise" to these (poor) Spaniards. Services often last 2 hours or more, sermons about 1 hour! It gives you an idea how the dogma's of the Church have been (and still are) hammered into the heads of people. I had to be content with the exterior of the church

This is not too bad, because these are Templer heads. By the way the same faces which I have seen in LINK: Brandenburg an der Havel und LINK: Skokloster, Sweden. So you get an idea of how extensive the network of the Templers was

Statues with arms up originally were a primordial (birth) gestures of the MotherGoddess (Nuth, Astarte)
GARINCOAIN

I always stop at a beautiful romanic black! Madonna

For a good joke also. . For here is the confessional. For extraordinary...sins, only? (PS. Or does extraordinario simply mean "priest?)

OLIETTA

The promising, but closed church

In contrast to France the local churches in Spain are often CLOSED. Moreover, it can be difficult to get a key. Like here in Olietta. A entire group was waiting here in vain for about two hours. Nobody showed up (despite promises). In order to avoid this problem it is better to first visit the local tourist office in the town nearby, and have some help with your (exact!) planning
It is a pity, for within there should be more beautiful treasures...

UJUÉ

In 2004 I visited Ujué for the first time. During a (famous) religious fiesta. The church was very beautiful i.e. with a romanic Madonna. At that time I didn't shoot any foto's.....Upon returning I found the church inaccessible because of a restauration. what she could contain is shown by these few images
